The National Trust property of Batemans, the former home of writer Rudyard Kipling, is also nearby.
This sumptuous Georgian house is Grade II listed and as soon as you enter the grand reception hall you will immediately get a feel for just how special this property is. The original bar is found here and is a perfect communal area, with its open fireplace, bar stools and comfortable places to sit. Off the hall is the beautiful dining room, with its huge table, chandeliers, feature fireplace and even a dartboard. Behind the bar in the reception hall you will find the door to the kitchen, where there is a four-door Range oven, additional oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and blender. The kitchen table comfortably seats ten and is perfect for meals when you don’t want to use the formal dining room. Doors lead from the kitchen to the large garden. From the kitchen you can access the opulent lounge, with its plentiful seating, TV and DVD and doors leading out to a patio area, allowing your gatherings to spill outside in the summer months.
