Stylishly decorated throughout in a distinctly boutique hotel style, this large and luxurious Grade II listed holiday home is the perfect choice for larger groups wishing to celebrate a special occasion in style.
This large country house is conveniently located on the main road leading to the village of Hurst Green in East Sussex. The village is small but does offer a village shop in a converted church. The cottage is situated in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where there are many pretty villages and interesting historic sites and properties, including the imposing castle at Bodiam, which is within a ten minute drive of the property. The National Trust property of Batemans, the former home of writer Rudyard Kipling, is also nearby.
This sumptuous Georgian house is Grade II listed and as soon as you enter the grand reception hall you will immediately get a feel for just how special this property is. The original bar is found here and is a perfect communal area, with its open fireplace, bar stools and comfortable places to sit. Off the hall is the beautiful dining room, with its huge table, chandeliers, feature fireplace and even a dartboard. Behind the bar in the reception hall you will find the door to the kitchen, where there is a four-door Range oven, additional oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and blender. The kitchen table comfortably seats ten and is perfect for meals when you don’t want to use the formal dining room. Doors lead from the kitchen to the large garden. From the kitchen you can access the opulent lounge, with its plentiful seating, TV and DVD and doors leading out to a patio area, allowing your gatherings to spill outside in the summer months. There is also a downstairs shower room. Stairs from the drawing room lead to the first floor where the elegantly decorated bedrooms are located. Two of the bedrooms have super-king sized beds, and a further two have king-sized beds, three of these rooms have their own wall-mounted televisions. The fifth bedroom has twin beds and features an original fireplace. The main bathroom has a huge shower, whilst a second bathroom benefits from the best of both worlds, with a shower over the bath.
The property’s garden is stunning with four distinct areas to enjoy. A patio area outside the kitchen is the perfect place to enjoy an al fresco meal and has a barbecue for guests’ use. A second patio area is located off from the drawing room and has a range of seating, making it the perfect spot for after dinner drinks. There is a hot tub (at an additional cost) to relax and enjoy views across the lawns, beyond which is a quiet and cosy shingled seating area, perfect for those who fancy getting away from the hustle and bustle of the house. There is plenty of parking for cars.
