Located in the heart of East Sussex in the village of Netherfield, this cosy couple’s cottage is within 0.5 miles of the village pub, café, and shop with post office. Just 4 miles away is Battle, renowned for the 1066 Battle of Hastings. It is a town brimming with many independent shops, restaurants, and tearooms. Keen walkers can enjoy the many footpaths in this area including the nearby Brightling Follies and the 31-mile 1066 country walk. Wonderful locations including Herstmonceux Castle, Pashley Manor Gardens, and the National Trust property Bateman’s are within 10 miles. For those that want to venture further afield Rye, Hastings and Bexhill are within 17 miles.

Enter this pretty cottage where there is space for dropping off coats and shoes before heading into the bright and airy lounge/kitchen/diner. The cosy lounge area is the perfect place to curl up on the comfortable sofa after a busy day exploring and watch a film on the Smart TV or relax with a good book. The kitchen is well-equipped with an electric oven and induction hob, fridge, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, and dishwasher. Perfect for preparing romantic meals which can then be enjoyed at the dining table and chairs that overlook the garden. The washer dryer and freezer are in a separate utility cupboard and the ground floor is completed with a cloakroom with WC. Heading upstairs you will find a comfortable king-size bedroom with a Smart TV and views across the countryside, and an en-suite shower room with walk-in shower and WC.

Heading outside to the enclosed patio area the garden offers spectacular countryside views and the patio table and chairs are perfect for sitting out on a warm evening. There is private off-road parking for one car.

Really enjoyable stay at this beautiful cottage. The pint of milk and welcome tin of tea, coffee and biscuits was really appreciated. The kitchen was very well equipped - couldn't want for anything. The local village shop and cafe at Netherfield was a very short drive away and was absolutely brilliant - breakfast highly recommended. The cottage is nicely situated to explore East Sussex, its seaside resorts and attractions. We particularly liked its proximity to several nice pubs serving excellent food. The friendly local shop in Netherfield is well worth patronising.

This is a first class property with everything you could need. High quality everywhere and even the smallest details considered. We have been in many excellent properties over the years and this is probably the very best. The only problem was access. The owners had spent much effort in trying to provide easy access but the current access is throughRead more a track in a small wooded area. A lovely, well equipped cottage with lots of hot water, big towels and a very comfortable bed. The garden had a table and chairs and sheltered and faced South, so was a real sun trap.

A wonderful property, beautifully appointed and very cosy. We felt very much at home. A local problem with the mains water was unfortunate the week we stayed, but delightful owner brought us bottled water. Good base for visiting East Sussex attractions, but as others have said, it's too dangerous to walk to the local pub which is by the way, very gRead moreood. Would highly recommend this property however. One of the best dog friendly places we've stayed in over several years. Hide

The cottage is lovely with a secure garden The only downside is that the road is very busy and doesnt have a pavement, so is too dangerous to walk anywhere from the cottage

We loved this exceptionally lovely cottage. The enclosed garden was safe for our dog and the garden parasol was very welcome as it was really hot all week. Yes, the road noise is a thing at times and it isn't safe to walk along the road but hop in the car for 5 mins and you're in beautiful Darwell Wood or the lovely village of Netherfield. Lovely cottage, very well set up and very comfortable. Lots of interesting places to visit within a reasonable distance. Not really near enough to walk to the pub or village especially as the road is busy.

Super little cottage. Very well equipped and everything so new. We really enjoyed our stay but would have liked to have had clarity that a walk to the pub isnt practical on a steep windy road with no pavements, but if youre not a pub go-er its a super location.

Lovely well appointed cottage with beautiful views and sunsets. Very well equipped kitchen. Unfortunately 60 mph road outside precludes walks from the door or to the pub or the fantastic shop/cafe/post office.. Beautiful woods a car ride away. There is no shade in the enclosed garden which is surrounded by wildflowers and majestic trees.

Fabulous dog friendly cottage with enclosed garden. Beautiful & spacious for 2, plus a large dog. Modern and remains a cosy charm. Garden adjoins other dog friendly cottage so nice option for a combined 2 cottage stay for 8 people plus 2 dogs. Near to Eastbourne and Hastings. Lots of lovely dog friendly pubs, walks & cafes. Highly recommend.
