However, for those who fancy a little more than lazy days spent in nature, there is plenty to see within driving distance. The seaside town of Eastbourne, with its theatre, shops and restaurants and famous seafront, is within a 20 minute drive. For those who enjoy history, the stunning grounds and gardens of Herstmonceux Castle are also just 20 minutes away. For outdoors types, the Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters are just beyond Eastbourne and provide plentiful stunning clifftop walks.
Accessed via a farmland track, this eco lodge provides the chance to really get away from it all. Tucked away in a secluded corner of the owner's garden the property is entered via wide sliding doors which bring you straight to the heart of the lodge. The lounge area is furnished with subtle low-key touches, so as not to detract from the nature surrounding the property. It has a sofa which converts to a sofa bed for one additional guest (at small charge) and comfy chairs, with TV and DVD player. The kitchen/diner is bright and airy, with a large dining table and everything you will need, including electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave dishwasher and washer/dryer. There are eco-friendly cleaning products provided, in line with the house’s eco credentials. A door leads to the bedroom with an enticing double sleigh bed, from which you can enjoy the beautiful views across the expansive outside space. There is also a wardrobe and bedside tables and an additional TV.
The large doors leading from each room, open out onto the beautiful and secluded outside space. The covered decked area means you can enjoy outdoor living, whatever the weather and beyond this, there is a lovely stone patio where you can sit and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings even as evening falls, due to the low level lighting which provides a subtle glow. The grassed area provides extra space and is a haven to wildlife, with its meadow flower borders. There is no need to go inside to eat either, as there is an al fresco dining area and a gas BBQ for guests to use. There is off-road parking provided, adjacent to the property.
