We really loved the setting of this cottage, with beautiful ancient oaks over the back fence appearing to blend directly into the surrounding woodland. It felt genuinely remote, but actually the post office/shop was a 5-minute walk away. The flat is beautifully presented and well equipped and the owners very helpful if needed; the downstairs has a Read morenice cosy feeling and upstairs is quite palatial. We found the South Downs glorious and of course in Small Dole you are not that far from the sea too. Hide

The place is rather small, but very well partitioned. The owners, Steve an Chris, are very kind and helpful. The patio is surrounded by a wooden wall, so you have neither view on or access to the spacious garden, but comprehensibly the owners want their privacy. The cottage sleeps 4 persons, but as it is very small, more than three would be too many.

Lovely cottage in peaceful surroundings up a quiet lane. Good pub and local shop within walking distance. Owners are friendly with good local knowledge of where to visit and places to eat. The patio area is the only outside space, so might not suit families with children who want to let off steam, but was perfect for our needs.
