Perfectly located to explore all of the lovely things that Kent has to offer, this charming farm cottage is in the pretty village of Aldington, just eight miles south-east of the bustling town of Ashford. Here you can visit the huge designer outlet shopping centre as well as the more traditional high street, and in the nearby city of Canterbury, you can browse a fantastic selection of independent shops as well as visiting the cathedral and timber-framed buildings along its medieval cobbled streets. The area is home to a wealth of National Trust properties including Chartwell, the former home of Winston Churchill, Knole House and Smallhythe Place, as well as the romantic castles of Leeds, Hever and Bodiam. Head to the coast where you will find glorious beaches and small fishing villages dotted along the coast as well as the larger resorts of Whitstable and Margate.

As you enter the property, you will be greeted by a small hall area, perfect to leave coats and boots. Just beyond is a cosy lounge with traditional wooden beams, comfortable sofas and wood burner, as well as a TV/DVD and family games for relaxing evenings at home. This lead into a well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen/diner with range-style electric oven and gas hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine as well as a separate utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer a WC and sink. A double bedroom, bathroom with shower over bath and WC complete the ground floor, along with a cosy snug with sofa, TV and a selection of books. Upstairs there are two further bedrooms, a double and a twin with sofa. Most of the rooms in the house have wonderful views across the surrounding countryside, dotted with livestock from neighbouring farms.

Outside there is a garden with table and chairs for al fresco dining as well as a built-in charcoal BBQ, under a covered area. There is private parking for one car.

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday as a family. Thank you both so much. You had thought of everything and we had absolutely everything we needed for a cosy, happy, family stay (which is saying a lot for four adults and two children under 5)! We were warm and cosy. We had the most restful holiday in this beautiful, rural retreat. The silence was glorious and the wildlife abundant. The owners were wonderfully accommodating about keeping their dogs away from our unfriendly mutt and the secure garden took away any worries about her getting out into the neighbouring cattle.

We had a really pleasant stay at Marwood Farm Cottage. The cottage itself was easy enough to find and located in a rural spot with only the owner and a few other houses nearby. The Military Canal was about 100m away and provided for lovely walks in the evening. The house was large and spacious with a nice kitchen which had all the utensils and cookRead moreware required. Outside was an amazing patio and BBQ, ideal for a hot summers day. The garden was fully fenced in which was ideal for our little dog. Hide

Lovely cottage in a beautiful peaceful place. Ideally located for various sandy beaches. The garden was really lovely and the covered outdoor seating area with bbq was ideal. Toys and board games were provided The owners were very friendly and let us pick tomatoes from the greenhouse and herbs from the garden. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderfull time in the nice and tastefully decorated old cottage in a lovely garden with flowers, some vegetables and herbs at Marwood Farm. The owners are very friendly, everything is very quiet and so it's a perfect place to calm down by walking, cycling, going to the beach or visiting some interested places like Canterbury Cathedral, DoRead morever and its White Cliffs, its castle or other castles. Cycling isn't as easy as we thought, cause there aren't much cycle paths. Hide

Nice rural location. Good sized yard for a toddler, along with the pub and park nearby. Nice property to walk/run in the mornings, well equipped house and big rooms. Might be too hot upstairs for sleeping if over 28/30 deg as fans only (no a/c).
