Once a stable block for the main Georgian house, this cosy hideaway has been tastefully converted into a stylish holiday cottage for couples looking for a luxury romantic break away from home near the coast.
This cosy cottage is situated in the ancient town of Winchelsea, with its large shingle beach, pubs and tearoom. For those who want to explore further afield the splendid town of Rye, which is located within a 10 minute drive of the property, has many interesting independent shops, as well as plenty of places to eat and some small galleries. Just outside Rye is the village of Rye harbour. With its RSPB nature reserve and gastro pub, this makes for a lovely place to while away an afternoon.
The front door of this former stable cottage opens into the bedroom, which has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed, bedside tables, wardrobe and dressing table. The en-suite shower room has a large walk-in power shower, perfect if you have had a long drive. From the bedroom, a door leads into the open-plan lounge/diner, which has some interesting period features including the beams and vaulted ceiling. There is a cosy woodburner here, which comes with an initial supply of logs and keeps the cottage lovely and warm in the colder months of the year. The comfortable sofa is a great place to relax in front of the TV and DVD and there is also a dining table, which looks across the stunning valley beyond the property. The bespoke kitchen features a range-style cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster and a butler’s sink. The property has Wi-Fi and also offers a range of books, magazines, DVDs and games for guests to use. Babe in arms welcome and guests are asked to bring their own crib.
Outside the property has a small, attractive courtyard garden, the perfect place for a glass of wine in the evenings, or an early morning coffee. Parking is available opposite the cottage.
Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
