Thoughtfully updated end-of-terrace cottage providing attractive accommodation for four guests at the heart of the seaside town of Whitstable, just a short walk to the seafront.
This property enjoys a fantastic location in the seaside town of Whitstable, adjacent to the town's sea wall and less than 50 metres from the shingle beach. Guests are also within easy reach of the High Street, with its fabulous range of independent boutiques, art galleries and a plethora of restaurants and pubs specialising in serving local, freshly caught seafood, including the oysters for which the town is well known.
Set in a traffic-free street, guests step into the lounge with its warming wood burner – the perfect spot for cosying up on cooler evenings or after a fresher day outside. Beyond this lies the combined kitchen/diner, which is ideal for socialising and sharing a family meal. When the weather's willing, patio doors lead from the kitchen to a small courtyard garden with outdoor furniture for enjoying al fresco drinks or meals. Back indoors, stairs lead from the lounge up to the first floor where the property's two bedrooms and shower room are found: the main bedroom is a spacious double room, while the second is a cosy bunk bedroom that will no doubt appeal to younger guests.
With all of Whitstable's amenities almost on the doorstep, guests don't have to go far when they stay in this delightful cottage. In fact, it might be tempting to leave the car behind, and there's no reason why not, thanks to the town's public transport links. Regular trains run to and from London's St Pancras International station, and continue from Whitstable to the sandy beach, pleasure park and contemporary art gallery at Margate, 19 miles to the east. Alternatively, hop on the bus and head 7 miles south to explore the historic streets and cathedral of Canterbury.
