This lovingly restored cart shed is an ideal base for those wanting a rural holiday in the Kent countryside.

This refurbished barn is a great option for discovering the rare wildlife and remote, beautiful landscapes of the Thames marshes. Situated on the edge of the Cliffe Pools RSPB nature reserve, it locates you perfectly for scenic walks where you may spot lapwings, cuckoos or nightingales. This cosy property with gorgeous views is perfect for two guests – either a couple or a pair of friends. One dog is welcome to come along too. If there are more of you, consider booking out the neighbouring property which also has space for two people.

This restored cart shed, part of a farm, is located on flat land with wide-reaching views all around. The outside has been given a modern revamp, while the inside retains original features such as wooden ceiling beams. The cosy bedroom can be made into a single or double according to your requirements. In the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, you'll find everything you need for cooking up tasty meals to enjoy as a pair, plus space for relaxing in front of the TV in the evenings. There are bi-fold doors, which create a sense of space, leading to the garden. On warm nights, sizzle up a feast on the BBQ and enjoy dinner in the fresh air.

You'll find walks in the nature reserve right on your doorstep and shops and a pub 0.5 miles away in Cliffe. The North Downs Way is another good option for making the most of the countryside. Head to nearby Cuxton (9.5 miles) to access this long-distance footpath. The 10-mile walk from Cuxton to Boxley (16.5 miles), which takes you through the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, crosses the stunning Medway Bridge before passing a burial chamber thought to be over 4,000 years old.

The cottage is fine for 2 people. The location is good for walks and bird watching with several RSPB sites nearby.
