This light and airy cottage nestled close to the village of Hawkhurst, offers a tranquil getaway in idyllic, rural surroundings for couples in the Kent countryside.

This charming little cottage is situated just outside of the pretty village of Hawkhurst in the heart of the Kent countryside. Though officially a village, Hawkhurst is often referred to as a small town as it offers two supermarkets as well as a lovely selection of independent shops. It also has a small boutique-style cinema complete with a stylish café and bar. You are within driving distance of the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells where you will find an abundance of shops and cafes, both in the traditional Pantiles area and the main town. You will find yourself amongst some of England’s most magnificent castles including Bodiam and Herstmonceux, as well as Battle Abbey, where the battle of Hastings took place in 1066. The cottage is only a few miles from Bateman’s, the former home of author Rudyard Kipling and you are only half an hour away from the historical towns of Battle and Rye too. The local beaches are superb and include the vast golden sands of Camber and the vast pebbled beaches of Hastings and Pevensey Bay.

As you walk through the front door, you arrive into the sweet little kitchen. Complete with electric oven and hob, a microwave, fridge with small ice compartment and a useful dishwasher and washing machine, you will certainly have all that you need. There is space to leave your coat and shoes in the lobby which leads into the shower room, complete with shower and WC. The kitchen leads up to a bright, modern and open plan living area with sofa, armchair and TV/DVD. At the end of this space, wooden storage units separate it from a bedroom area, with a super king zip and link bed that can be made into singles on request.

The kitchen leads out to a secluded patio, with a table and comfortable chairs which invite you to dine outside in temperate weather; guests also have the use of part of the owner’s lawned garden during their stay. There is private parking for one car and a charging port for an electric car if necessary.
