This beautiful character cottage is located close to the idyllic village of Hawkhurst on the Kent/Sussex border. Although nestled in the countryside, Hawkhurst has much more to offer than most villages with its colonnade of independent shops and even a boutique state-of-the-art cinema with its own chic cafe-bar. Further afield, the upmarket town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is within a short drive and has many shops and a large choice of restaurants. Also within easy reach are several places of historic interest, including Batemans, the home of writer Rudyard Kipling and the magnificent Bodiam Castle. The Kent and East Sussex coast is not too far away and boasts sandy and pebbled beaches, lined with charming seaside towns and villages.
The entrance to the cottage leads you into the well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher and washing machine. A small lobby area with space for hanging coats and dropping off shoes leads into the shower room, with shower and WC. Stairs from the kitchen lead up to the open-plan lounge/dining/bedroom area with a sofa, retro armchair, TV/DVD, there is also a dining table and two chairs, perfect for romantic evening meals. The room is cleverly divided by freestanding wooden storage units which create a studio area for the bedroom, a cosy retreat which has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be made into a twin on request).
Outside, there is a secluded patio area with a table and chairs for two. Guests are also able to use part of the owner’s garden which is mainly laid to lawn. There is private parking for one car and a charging point for electric powered cars.
