Characterful Grade II listed weather-boarded property with attractive period features, enjoying a central location in the seaside town of Whitstable in East Kent.

Overlooking the seafront, a stay in this distinctive property puts guests at the heart of Whitstable. The town's quirky art galleries and fiercely independent shops, castle and fishing harbour, and plentiful restaurants all lie within 0.5 miles of the door, while its beachside location means that lazy days in the sun or a seaside walk along the Saxon Shore Way are quite literally on the doorstep.

The heart of this gorgeous weather-boarded building is a spacious kitchen/diner with a beamed ceiling, reclaimed wood floors and traditional AGA creating a wonderfully cosy atmosphere. The large dining table provides a great space for friends and family to gather, eat and simply enjoy one another's company, although there is a second dining area in the property's conservatory that leads out onto a decked terrace, with which it shares stunning sea views. The property also benefits from two lounges; one on the ground floor and a main sitting room on the first floor with uninterrupted views across the bay. The first floor also contains two of the property's bedrooms – a master double room and a bunk bedroom that might suit younger guests – with another double bedroom found in the converted sail loft up a further flight of stairs.

Whether you want to take the Saxon Shore Way west towards the coastal village of Seasalter and its renowned gastropub, or east to the prettily painted beach huts at Tankerton, great walks are guaranteed. Alternatively, the cathedral city of Canterbury lies 7 miles south, with Howletts Wildlife Animal Park just 5 miles further on. Or head east to discover the Turner Contemporary gallery and Dreamland theme park at Margate, which is less than 20 miles by rail or road.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

The historic, characterful Sea View House is in the most beautiful position, right on the beach path and close to the sea. We loved the cottage & its location. Great for the sea, crabbing & oysters virtually next door. The house is extremely well equipped once we worked out the cupboards and drawers. The kids loved working the old fashioned balance scales. We were able to drop our stuff & park close by. Dont worry that the street is very narrow theres somewhere to turnRead more at the end!
