Located within the heart of Sandgate and with easy access to the beach at the end of the road, this stylish and well-designed holiday cottage is a fantastic seaside getaway for larger families.

Nestled in the pretty town of Sandgate with its wide range of independent shops, pubs and restaurants and with the beautiful beach located on the opposite side of the road, this cottage is ideal for a large family getaway. The cottage is within easy reach of the beautiful Kent countryside, the Cinque Ports town of Hythe, the Creative Quarter at Folkestone, Dover Castle, Port Lympne Safari Park, the Battle of Britain Memorial site at Capel Le Ferne and the historic city of Canterbury with its famous cathedral and Marlow Theatre, all within 30 miles. For those with an interest in outdoor activities there are many footpaths to walk and cycle on nearby and water sports such as kite surfing, windsurfing and SUP are popular along the Sandgate waterfront.

Steps lead up to the front door of this 19th-century Grade II listed townhouse and into the hallway with space for dropping off shoes and coats. Head into the light and bright dual aspect lounge and relax on one of the two comfy sofas and enjoy catching up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV. Head into the kitchen which is equipped with everything you will need for creating delicious family meals including an electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, additional fridge, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer and two dishwashers before dining in the cosy dining room which in a former life was where the fishermen’s wives would see in the local shellfish catch of the day. The ground floor is completed with a cloakroom with WC. Heading up the stairs from the hallway, you will find two bedrooms: a king-size with an en-suite shower room with shower and WC and a double with an en-suite bathroom with bath and WC. A further set of stairs takes you up to the second floor where there are another two bedrooms: a double and a twin together with a bathroom with a bath, separate shower, and WC.

Separate doors from the dining room lead out into two different, fully-enclosed courtyard garden areas which both offer a patio table and chairs and in the larger one a gas BBQ. Relax after a busy day at the beach and enjoy dining outside with a glass of fizz. There is private parking for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Great stay- had amazing weather. On top of the beach so excellent location. The house was lovely and has everything we needed.

Shellfish House was better than we expected in terms of size of bedrooms and accessibility to beach and local amenities ( we didnt know the area at all). The only downside was the noise from the traffic, particularly early in the morning ( if sleeping at front of house) didnt realise the road was the main coast road out of Folkestone. The welcome pRead moreackage was practical and useful and the new bucket & spade was loved by my grandson. I would like to hope we can return in the future. Hide

Lovely house full of everything you could possibly need and more. Plenty of space for everyone, very comfortable beds. Outside space and terrace is great, use of a very large gas barbecue. Great location just across the road from the beach, with enough bars and restaurants, if you fancy eating out. Just 2miles from beautiful Folkestone.
