200-year old traditional fishermen’s cottage located just 200 yards from the seafront in the Meads Village area of Eastbourne, with a choice of pubs, restaurants, and shops right on the doorstep.

This property is located just a short walk from the seafront in the Meads Village area of Eastbourne. The beach at this side of town is quieter than the town’s main beach and has a more laid-back feel to it, and is backed on one side by pretty Italian-style gardens. There is a thriving community in Meads Village, and there is a good choice of shops, restaurants, and pubs just a few minutes from the property’s front door. Eastbourne town centre is just a mile’s walk along the seafront, or a short bus journey away, and offers a traditional beach with beach hut hire, the lovingly restored Victorian pier, and seaside shops.

The owners have thoughtfully styled this cottage to create a wonderfully restful retreat for two. On arrival, guests first come to the lounge, a lovely light room with a warming gas fire, comfortable sofa which can convert to a bed if required, a vintage-style dresser, and a TV. From the lounge, a door leads through to the kitchen which is another pleasant light-filled space, offering an oven, gas hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer. The washing machine, meanwhile, can be found housed in a separate utility shed to the rear of the property. A doors opens onto steep, turned stairs, which take guest to the first floor accommodation. Here, guests will find a restful king-size room with wrought iron bedstead, stripped wooden floors, cosy rugs, and a wardrobe. Also on the first floor is the spacious bathroom which offers a bath with handheld shower along with a power shower over and WC.

Outside, there is a pretty, enclosed courtyard garden to the rear of the property where guests will find a table and chairs, perfect for enjoying al fresco drinks whilst taking in the sea air. There is roadside parking close to the house for which a permit for one car is supplied.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Perfect for a seaside break with a dog. It had everything we needed. Including a small enclosed private garden. It was very close to the pub, shops and sea front and beach walks while being quiet and peaceful. We would recommend this cottage.

The Cottage was in a ideal quiete location . Near the Sea and some shops . A very good base for touring around the area .

A beautiful quaint little cottage, excellent facilities, wi- fi, freesat and BT tv. Everything provided for a comfortable stay. Excellent shower and very comfortable bed. Modern kitchen and fully equipped. Close to Meads Village shops and cafes and right next door to a friendly comfortable pub/ restaurant with a fab menu. Brilliant location, cosy cottage & good heating. Comfortable bed. Clean bed linen & towels provided for our second week and the bed was made up for us.

Great place and location due to a good pub a door away and local shops a short walk away. very good location for starting your walks on the cliffs to beachy head, birling gap and seven sisters to Cuckmere and further on the south downs way. local transport to Brighton and other areas very good too.
