This stylish apartment is in the heart of the pretty town of Cranbrook with easy access to nearby Sissinghurst Castle and the surrounding Kent countryside.

Originally built as a coffee house in the 1880s with views of Cranbrook Union Mill, the tallest smock mill in England, the property is a great base within walking distance of local pubs, restaurants, and independent shops. Within 15 miles are the lovely towns of Tenterden and Tunbridge Wells while historic Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens is just a 3-mile drive away, and there are several award-winning local vineyards further afield too. The Kent and East Sussex Railway is within 8 miles and perfect for those looking to soak up a bit of local culture, and with a wide range of footpaths and cycle paths on the doorstep, this is the perfect base for couples looking to escape it all.

The entrance to the apartment leads you into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, which is light and airy and offers loft-style living with many original features. The lounge area is warm and inviting with two comfy sofas and an armchair arranged around the wood burner where you can curl up on chilly evenings and catch up on your favourite programmes on the smart TV. A desk and chair also offer the perfect spot to catch up on emails. A dining table and chairs provide a lovely space for enjoying delicious meals that have been whipped up in the well-appointed kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, washer/drier, dishwasher and a breakfast bar with two stools for enjoying a morning coffee. When it’s time to head to bed, a door leads from the lounge to the double bedroom which has views towards the windmill, and the property is completed with a bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC.

Heading outside there are several cafes and restaurants within walking distance that offer outside dining and there is private gated parking at the rear of the property. Crane Valley Nature Reserve is around 50 meters away, where you will find grassed areas ideal for dog walks.

We really enjoyed our three-night stay in this apartment, which was well placed for the village and the many tourist attractions nearby. The kitchen is very well-equipped, the bathroom modern with a lovely powerful shower and the bed and bedding providing a good night's sleep. In the cool January evenings we lit the log fire and relaxed on the big Read moresofas. Hide

Well equipped property, lovely welcome pack and an excellent host. Cranbrook is a lovely village, we had dinner in the local hotel several times and it was always good. Larkins Ale House is a must visit if you like Ale, excellent fresh beer.
