This apartment enjoys a prime location in the centre of Whitstable, which is well known for its laid-back, fashionable character and excellent choice of restaurants and gastropubs, many of which specialise in locally caught seafood. With an array of interesting independent boutiques on the doorstep and the seafront less than 200 metres away, this split-level apartment is ideal for a couple or small family looking for a base in the heart of the town.

Guests approach this property via a courtyard that is shared with the ground-floor cheese shop, with stairs leading up to the accommodation on the first and second floors. The main living area is located on the first floor and comprises a lounge/diner and separate kitchen, plus a bathroom with a shower-over-bath and WC. Stairs lead to the second floor, where the property's two bedrooms are found, comprising a double room and a cosy single room with a small single bed.

Thanks to its central location, everything Whitstable has to offer is within easy reach, be it the fishing harbour where the local catch is landed, the castle and gardens, the theatre, or the local arts centre and artists' galleries. The gently sloping beach at Tankerton is just 0.5 miles away, and is perfect for lazy days watching the world go by. Slightly further afield, the ancient cathedral city of Canterbury is a 7-mile car or bus ride south, while 19 miles to the east lies Margate, with its vintage-themed pleasure park, contemporary art gallery and sandy beach with tidal pool.

A lovely place to stay right in the heart of Whitstable - we enjoyed breakfast sitting at the front window overlooking the comings and goings at the little cafes and independent shops in the high street. The flat itself is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean and the kitchen is well equipped. A fantastic place to stay within a few minutes walRead morek to the beach. Hide
