This 1920s beachfront family property provides an eclectic mix between old and new with plenty of vintage features throughout and enclosed shingle garden, all in an unbeatable location at Pevensey Bay.

This vintage seaside chalet is located right on the beach at Pevensey Bay, a quiet shingle beach perfect for romantic walks and also a popular destination for windsurfers. Within a 20 minute drive is the seaside town of Bexhill-on-Sea, which enjoyed a new lease of life in the mid-2000s, following the extensive renovation of its iconic De La Warr Pavilion, which has become a popular arts venue and gallery, with a chic café bar. The quiet coastal town of Eastbourne is a 10 minute drive away and further along the coast there is plenty of opportunity for walking at the Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters, where stunning views look out across the sea.

The property is reached via 2 flights of steps (16 steps in all) from the parking area up to the front door (the property is then all on one level). The entrance hall, with storage space for coats and beach equipment, leads to the well-equipped kitchen with double electric oven, gas hob, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and coffee machine for which the owners leave a few pods to start you off. There is also a table which seats four. A side door from the kitchen leads to a terrace area with outside seating. Next door is a bedroom with twin beds, this room has access to the terrace. To the rear of the property is the sitting and dining room which has stunning views across the pretty shingle beach. There is plenty of seating here, with sofa, chairs and a single bed, made up as day-bed, which can be used for an occasional overnight guest. There is a TV with BT vision, DVD player and iPod dock. The dining table seats four and there is also extra furniture which can be taken outside to enjoy the views of the sea. The double bedroom, which overlooks the beach, has a small double bed. There are two modern bathrooms, one which has a bath with handheld shower and the other with shower. The whole house is heated by cosy warm air underfloor heating.

Outside, there is a large terrace to the front of the property, but the real draw is the rear garden, which has patio area with steps leading down to the enclosed shingle space and onwards straight onto the beach. Beach lovers could not be closer to the sea. There is parking for two cars at the front of the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Another wonderful holiday at the very comfortable and well equipped Beach Bung. The view is superb so much so that you can spend all your time sitting relaxing and watching the sea and the sky and then walk along the shingle beach and be quite content. Unmatched in my opinion ... we shall be back.

Our holiday location was perfect. Right on the shingle beach. Just right for fishing. Pevensey Bay centre has all you want. The Bakers/Cafe is superb. The convenience store is fine and the Anglers Shop is great. We visited Michelham Priory and Batemans for days out. Blessed with good weather. This is a good base for the area.
