Located in Rye Harbour this charming weather boarded cottage is a great coastal hideaway for couples and families looking to explore the Nature Reserve, Rye Bay beach and surrounding area.

This sweet little cottage is located in the pretty fishing village of Rye Harbour, just a few minutes from the bustling Cinque Ports town of Rye and only a short stroll from the shingle ridges and saline lagoons of the Rye Nature Reserve. The area is perfect for bird watching as over 90 species of bird’s nest here; there are also wide stretches of beach, both at the Nature Reserve leading down to Winchelsea and Pett Level, as well as the vast sands and dune system of Camber Sands in the opposite direction. If wandering around the cobbled streets of Rye with its quaint antique shops, busy cafes and historic houses isn’t enough, you are within driving distance of the interesting towns of Hastings and Battle. Here you can visit the old castle ruins and the impressive Battle Abbey on whose land the 1066 battle of Hastings took place, as well as a variety of art galleries, museums and delightful shops.

A bright yellow door greets you as you walk along the path to the property, inviting you in to the light and spacious hall. The perfect place for dropping off coats and shoes, it leads into the modern white open-plan space which houses the lounge, dining area and kitchen. A large corner sofa tempts you to put your feet up in front of the cosy wood burner and perhaps watch a favourite programme or two. The contemporary kitchen area has an electric range oven and hob, a fridge with ice compartment, a freezer and a useful dishwasher; here you can cook and chat while guests relax in the sitting area or at the dining table. A nautical style twin bedroom and bathroom is also on the ground floor along with the bathroom, complete with bath with overhead shower and WC. It is also home to a washing machine and tumble dryer tucked away in a cupboard. Head upstairs where there is a lovely space with gorgeous sea views as well as a sofa bed and bean bags, perfect for relaxing with friends or for an extra person or two to stay over. Here you will find the light and airy master bedroom which has a comfortable king-size bed and is also furnished with a subtle nautical theme.

Patio doors from the dining area open into a small courtyard style garden with pretty flowerbeds and patio table and chairs. There is also a charcoal BBQ for al fresco dining. The cottage has a sweet little conservatory where you can while away the hours reading or playing board games. There is dedicated parking for one car and a small area of roadside parking subject to availability.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

The Nook feels like it is almost at the end of the world, but when you get there and into the wide expanses of the RSPB Nature Reserve, you just feel revitalised. The house is cosy and warm, with excellent equipment and good facilities, and the perfect place to come home to after a day of exploring. The village pub "William the Conqueror" serves grRead moreeat Cypriot influenced food. Rye town has much to explore, but we also went along the whole coast, returning happily every night, to our little Nook Hide

A lovely well designed house and surprisingly spacious, plenty of space for two adults, two teenagers and a dog! It is set in an extremely quite location with great access to the nature reserve and pebble beach. Some terrific pubs in the area and great food. Rye is a real gem and Winchelsea is stunning.

Lovely cottage, down a quiet road right by Rye harbour with good pubs and cafe. Very well equipped for all eventualities including dog things - bowl, towel and throws. A lovely bottle of prosecco and fresh flowers for our arrival - definitely be going again

Lovely well equipped cottage in great location for walking. Sarah the owner was very good with communication, needed extra bed linen and she made bed up no probs. William the Conqueror pub a bonus, good menu including Cypriot specials. Definitely recommend and would come again.

What a delightful, relaxing little house. We had an absolutely lovely time here and the children particularly loved the studio/ games room. Lots of sweet little touches, particularly the Easter eggs left next to the children's beds.
