This sweet little cottage is located in the pretty fishing village of Rye Harbour, just a few minutes from the bustling Cinque Ports town of Rye and only a short stroll from the shingle ridges and saline lagoons of the Rye Nature Reserve. The area is perfect for bird watching as over 90 species of bird’s nest here; there are also wide stretches of beach, both at the Nature Reserve leading down to Winchelsea and Pett Level, as well as the vast sands and dune system of Camber Sands in the opposite direction. If wandering around the cobbled streets of Rye with its quaint antique shops, busy cafes and historic houses isn’t enough, you are within driving distance of the interesting towns of Hastings and Battle. Here you can visit the old castle ruins and the impressive Battle Abbey on whose land the 1066 battle of Hastings took place, as well as a variety of art galleries, museums and delightful shops.
A bright yellow door greets you as you walk along the path to the property, inviting you in to the light and spacious hall. The perfect place for dropping off coats and shoes, it leads into the modern white open-plan space which houses the lounge, dining area and kitchen. A large corner sofa tempts you to put your feet up in front of the cosy wood burner and perhaps watch a favourite programme or two. The contemporary kitchen area has an electric range oven and hob, a fridge with ice compartment, a freezer and a useful dishwasher; here you can cook and chat while guests relax in the sitting area or at the dining table. A nautical style twin bedroom and bathroom is also on the ground floor along with the bathroom, complete with bath with overhead shower and WC. It is also home to a washing machine and tumble dryer tucked away in a cupboard. Head upstairs where there is a lovely space with gorgeous views to the sea as well as a sofa bed and bean bags, perfect for relaxing with friends or for an extra person or two to stay over. Here you will find the light and airy master bedroom which has a comfortable king-size bed and is also furnished with a subtle nautical theme.
