This spectacular holiday cottage has been stylishly designed throughout to provide stunning accommodation with contemporary features. Set in the heart of the enchanting village of Appledore makes this a wonderful getaway.

This beautiful cottage is situated in the Kent village of Appledore. The village, though small, is well appointed with village shop, pub, post office, tea room and antique shop, which are all within walking distance of the property. The historic town of Rye is within a 15 minute drive, and is a lovely place to while away the day, wandering through its cobbled streets, exploring its independent shops and enjoying a meal in one of the many restaurants, cafes and pubs. For beach lovers, the expansive beach at Camber Sands is within a 20 minute drive.

The front door of the property opens onto the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which is light and airy and stylishly finished in muted colours. The lounge, at one end of the room, has a comfortable sofa and chairs, TV and DVD player, a cosy woodburner and large windows, flooding the room with light and affording views across the meadows to the rear of the property. A pillar stands between this area and the kitchen, which has all the equipment that you would expect, whilst retaining the country-feel of the property. There is an oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The washing machine is housed in a separate cupboard in the bathroom. Close to the kitchen is a contemporary dining table seating eight, and, through the French doors, space to eat outside. The downstairs bathroom is decorated in an understated manner and has a shower over the bath. Stairs lead to the first floor, with balcony seating area. The master bedroom has a large king-size bed and dressing table and the flue of the downstairs woodburner rises through this room, keeping it lovely and warm in the winter months. The second bedroom has zip-and-link beds which can be made as a king-size or a twin. The third bedroom is a cosy single. There is also an upstairs shower room.

Outside there is a pretty cottage-style garden with garden furniture, it is set to lawn, with beautiful flowered borders. There is parking for one car.

For this particular property there is a security deposit of £300 which is pre-authorised against your credit card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. We love the light, bright Pear Tree Cottage and also the tea room next to it. We visited NT properties: Scotney Castle, Smallhythe, Sissinghurst and Ightham Mote. Everyday a nice cream tea! Beautiful cottage - very tastefully and lovingly refurbished - thank you! Great Village with a very nice pub. We recommend a trip to Dungeness for a very strange, apocalyptic experience - the miniature railway to Hythe was a real highlight. A trip to Eastbourne on the railway and then bus to Beachy Head is also highly recommended - as is the beach Read moreat Eastbourne, with exhilarating waves and a very nice pebble beach. Hide
