This lovingly restored old showman’s carriage offers truly unique holiday accommodation perfect for a very special occasions or romantic getaways, located within stunningly beautiful rolling countryside.

This stunning showman’s carriage is located within 200 acres of farmland, under the watchful eye of the imposing Bodiam Castle. You really could not be closer to this wonderful historic sight, with its moat and extensive grounds. Also located just a few moments from the cottage is one of the stations for the vintage steam trains which run along a ten-mile route from Bodiam to the small town of Tenterden, with its high street of interesting shops and its Old Dairy Brewery where you can take a tour and taste the ales.

Originally a showman’s carriage, built in 1894, you can really feel the atmosphere of this beautifully restored property, which has found its final resting place here. Inside the carriage is a cornucopia of original features including the mahogany woodwork, tiled fireplace and imitation woodburner. There is even a TV with DVD player and a CD player, so there is no need to forego your creature comforts. To one end of the carriage is the cosy and romantic raised bed, which is slightly smaller than a regular double. The kitchen and bathroom are each located in two adjacent buildings which are right outside. The thatched kitchen/dining room has everything you will need including a sink, small cooker, fridge and a small railway-style table, which has stunning views to the countryside beyond. The bathroom is a wet room with shower and is found on the opposite side of the decked area to the kitchen.

Outside the carriage is a raised decked-area which has an secluded enclosed veranda, from which to enjoy  views across to Bodiam Castle. This space provides a wonderful outdoor living space, with comfortable wicker chairs and table.

We had a wonderful romantic stay at the Prince Regent, this was Glamping and some! We had everything we needed and we were given privacy but we also knew if there was anything we wanted we only had to call. This is a very good base to visit many wonderful places. This was a holiday to remember!

We had a wonderful stay in the Prince Regent, John the owner was there to greet us and was always on hand if we needed him. The Prince Regent was cosy and warm, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The under cover veranda was lovely, we sat out admiring the views for most of the day. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
