Traditional fishermen’s cottage, located just moments from the seafront in the seaside town of Eastbourne, benefitting from a raised patio with sea views.

This property is situated at the heart of the traditional seaside resort of Eastbourne, just across the road from the town’s wide shingle beach. The town’s restored Victorian pier is just a three-minute walk away with its nightclub, tea rooms, and fish and chip restaurant. Other attractions in the town include an interesting lifeboat museum, a seafront fort built during the Napoleonic Wars, and a fantastic outdoor sports centre, which offers tuition in stand-up paddle boarding, windsurfing, and even raft making. There is also a good range of both high-street and independent shops in the town, as well as a wide choice of pubs, restaurants, and cafes.

The front door of this attractive cottage opens directly into the cosy lounge. This room has a lovely traditional feel, thanks to the whitewashed cobblestone walls and low ceilings, and offers a comfortable sofa, armchair, and TV/DVD. Just off the lounge is a contemporary-style kitchen/diner which is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine, and has a folding dining table at one end. There is a downstairs cloakroom and a door from the kitchen leads out to the patio area, making it easy for guests to enjoy al fresco meals. Steep, narrow, cottage-style steps lead to the first floor where the first of the property’s two bedrooms is situated: a double room which has a wrought iron bedstead and has been charmingly styled to create a tranquil retreat. The bathroom is also located on this floor and offers a sumptuous roll-top bath, separate shower, and WC. A second set of steep turned stairs lead to a single room which is situated in the eaves of the house, and therefore has a low ceiling and some reduced head-height.

Outside, there is an enclosed courtyard with garden furniture to the rear of the property, as well as a raised patio to the side of the cottage which offers views to the sea. There is unrestricted roadside parking just in front of the property, subject to availability.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Whilst this was well situated for the sea front /pier and for shops this was spoilt by the four industrial waste bins which were frequently being sorted through by the homeless.

Cottage was lovely, very small living room but its the size it is, the rest of the accommodation was a good size and lovely bathroom. I would go back due to its splendid location in the town.

A charming holiday cottage in a lovely location close to the sea front for great walks. Facilities really good, and fully equipped. The large bathroom had a bath and separate shower. Bedrooms cosy and beds very comfortable.

The Sail Loft is loveley decorated and on a good location near the beach. Eastbourne is a very nice town to spend your holiday. I would have liked a bit more cutlery and juice glasses as not to do the washing up after every meal. Also a frying pan would have been nice.

Lovely accommodation at The Sail Loft and the only downside being availability of nearby parking while we were there.

Very comfortable, impressed that we had a dishwasher! Love the old building with its history. Great for walks along the promenade, hearing the band and the nearby Italian ice cream shop. We have the sea in view. Best side is the beach and promenade, the street behind seems neglected but adequate for our shopping needs. We travelled in beautiful SuRead moressex every day. Hide

The owner has brought it into the 21st Century whilst retaining the buildings history and adding to its charm. The kitchen is Fab with all the mod cons and very well equipped. The bathroom is amazing! TheRead more shower is great and very spacious. The roll top bath is Beautiful, and there was always lashings of hot water. The double bedroom is lovely and the single bedroom at the top of the house is Fantastic. A lovely seaside feel and beautifully furnished - appealing to the young and young at heart. The beds were very comfortable too! The lounge is nicely furnished, comfortable, and has a lovely cosy feel. The outside space is very useful and there is even an extra patio area to sit out in the sun. I really can't rate The Sail Loft highly enough and would recommend it to anyone. We had a fantastic holiday. The cottage is tastefully renovated and in a very convenient location. Eastbourne has a lot to offer. We walked on the South Downs to Beachy Head and Birling Gap. Saw the Air Show and visited Charleston Farmhouse - also lovely walks along the promenade. We will be back again some day.
