Lovingly converted stylish holiday cottage which provides a special couple’s getaway in the glorious Kent countryside. Perfect for exploring the great pubs and restaurants on the doorstep.

Located in the High Weald AONB and the heart of the Kent countryside, this converted former piggery is in a secluded location close to the charming market town of Tenterden. You’ll find all the amenities you’ll need in Tenterden to fully enjoy your stay, from quirky shops to cafes, takeaways and fine dining establishments. There’s also plenty of fantastic days out that can be enjoyed within a short distance from the property, including the Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway, the Old Dairy Brewery and the Chapel Down Vineyard. For keen walkers, there are a host of footpaths to enjoy taking you through the High Weald.

After entering the property, you will be immediately greeted by the property’s main living space, the studio lounge/diner. The cosy lounge features a comfortable sofa, as well as a smart TV and DVD, perfect for rainy days. By night, the sofa turns into a sofa bed, really making the most of this compact but charming property. In one corner of the room you will also find the intimate dining area, perfect for a romantic dinner or even just a simple breakfast, as well as a cupboard for storing clothes. Heading into the kitchen, this space is well-equipped with everything needed to cook up some simple meals, including an induction hob, free-standing halogen oven, toaster and fridge with ice compartment. Outside of the property, guests can enjoy relaxing in the garden area, shared with the owner’s property, which has its own bistro table and chairs and large fire-pit. A private parking space is also available for one car.

We had a wonderful time in the piggery. Jo was incredibly welcoming and helpful and generous with her time and advice on things to do and places to go. The barn was cosy and had a well appointed kitchen with everything you need. We stayed with our 1 year old, which although a bit snug, was a great base to go off and explore the beaches, local walksRead more and steam train! We had a lovely meal at the Ewe and Lamb 5mins drive down the road. The barn is in a lovely rural setting with great view! Hide

Lovely reception with very nice treats for guest and dog... Everything spotlessly clean and more spaceous than photographs suggest... the bedcouch is clearly a compromise... Garden and grounds are gorgeous. Splendid location for exploration of the South-east

Absolutely beautiful place, woke up to rabbits and other wildlife with spectacular views. Joanna our host was very welcoming with information and breakfast things for our stay. She gave us full use of the grounds, fire pit & logs. Our toddler settled in immediately. Well definitely recommend The Pigsty to friends and family.
