Ashford is a large town in the English county of Kent, only fifteen miles from the beautiful cathedral city of Canterbury. Now with international rail links, the town has a cosmopolitan vibe with lots of restaurants and cafes, as well as live world music bringing the streets alive in the evenings. Famous for its shopping, it has a bustling high street and busy outlet centre just outside of the town.

A pioneering ‘shared space’ where pedestrians, cyclists and motorists harmoniously come together is admired by visitors from all over the world and the Ashford Green Corridor brings a hint of nature to the centre of the town to relax stressed minds and bodies. It’s not all modern though - the past is still alive throughout the town, with Georgian and Jacobean buildings flanking narrow alleys. Worth a visit are the Ashford Borough Museum which exhibits graffiti from many hundred years ago and the historic church.

Our Ashford holiday cottages are a perfect base from which to explore as only twenty miles east are the famous coastal resorts of Dover and Folkestone and further south, Hastings and Brighton. Surrounded by quintessential Kentish villages and towns, including Wittersham, Tenterden and Rye, you will find lots of historic houses and castles to visit, including Leeds Castle, Bodiam Castle and the lovely Godington House and Gardens which offers tours of the magnificent house and beautiful grounds.
