Holiday cottages and self-catering accommodation in Broadstairs
Broadstairs is a traditional small coastal town sitting on the East Kent coast between Margate and Ramsgate. Known as the ‘Jewel in Thanet’s Crown’, it is the epitome of an English seaside town with literary connections, charming seaside amusements and miles of sandy beaches. Fans of Charles Dickens can visit the clifftop Bleak House, where his famous novel David Copperfield was written, and the fascinating Dickens Museum on the seafront. The area hosts a mountain of festivals and events during the summer and food festivals and tours also score highly on the visitor agenda.
The seven beaches in Broadstairs are simply amazing, whether you want to sunbathe, swim or surf. Botany Bay is one of the more notable, and has a rich smuggling history as does much of this area. The main resort is Viking Bay which has a lovely mixture of restaurants and cafes, a small harbour and pretty colourful beach huts nestled under a clifftop promenade. There are often amusements in the summer, and it really feels like a resort from times gone by, wonderful to relive memories or for children to make new ones.
