Delightful flint cottage sleeping five guests, located in the Motcombe Village area of Eastbourne, with its historic pub, choice of independent shops, and good range of cafes and tea rooms.

This traditional flint cottage, full of delightful period features and sociable outdoor space, offers both cosiness and splendour in Eastbourne's oldest quarter, Motcombe Village. With plenty of space for five, and tons of fun activities in close proximity, this could be a winning choice for your next friends' trip away.

The cottage has quiet charisma even from the street, with its unusual flint and brick facade. Enter via a hallway into the heart of the home, a cheery open-plan area, combining a light cottage kitchen, large dining table perfect for long, sociable meals, and a sitting area beside an original wood-panelled hearth and flint-lined fireplace. Here, a wood burner and a pile of logs are yours with which to make the space even cosier. Upstairs you'll find the first of your stylish bedrooms, a spacious double, with exposed beams and views of the Downs, and a twin. Up to the second floor and you'll find a sweet single room and the main bathroom with a roll-top bath for extra relaxation. Both of these rooms have sloping ceilings and some reduced head-height. Outside, the patio area is a lovely place to sit and discuss the day's adventures, with pretty outdoor furniture and a surrounding wall for ultimate privacy.

Enjoy the balance of town and country in the Motcombe Village area of Eastbourne, known as the town's historic quarter. A 2-mile walk through the interesting lanes of the town will take you to the beach, where an elegant Victorian pier, bandstand, and traditional seaside amusements all sit within a mile's stroll. And if you really want to shake off that city dust, head to the hills of the South Downs National Park, a few hundred yards from the property, for walks and trails leading down to the cliffs of Birling Gap and Beachy Head.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The location was great with loads of parks for walking the dog, a great local Chinese takeaway and The Lamb pub, Waitrose supermarket and a convenient bus stop for catching the Coastal bus to Brighton.
