With a garden that leads onto the beach, this property is ideally located for keen beach-goers, walkers and those looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by spectacular oceanside views from many rooms.

This quaint 1930s cottage is located on St Mary’s Bay in Dymchurch, Kent. Within a few minutes’ walk of the sandy beach, it is also close to the shingle beach RSPB reserve at Dungeness. Despite its quiet, rural location St Mary’s Bay is perfect for those looking for some retail therapy, thanks to its location within a 25 minute drive of Rye, famed for its antique shops and welcoming pubs. For families, the one-third size steam engines of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway depart from close by and Port Lympne Reserve and safari park is just a short drive away.

On arrival at the property you will immediately be struck by the open space and tranquil location. Steps leading up to the front door bring you to the porch, a handy place to leave sandy shoes after a day at the beach. Stepping into the lounge area, with its natural wooden floors and cosy rug, your eye will be drawn to the open views over the garden to the sea. You will also find a woodburner, TV and Wi-Fi. The comfortable kitchen offers a dining table and has all you need to prepare a hearty meal after a day out, including electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, kettle and toaster. There is a separate larder which houses the freezer and washing machine. The downstairs bedroom can be made up with either a single or double bed and also benefits from those beautiful sea views. Also downstairs are the bathroom, featuring an original roll-top bath and a separate shower room with electric shower. Upstairs you will find the sanctuary-like master bedroom with double bed and, again, more of those sea views. Again the second bedroom enjoys sea views from its twin beds.

Outside the property is surrounded by a wild seaside garden, with a path leading straight down to the promenade and on to the beach. There is a table and chairs in the garden and a BBQ for the perfect end to your day.

Greycot is a lovely detached cottage (small but perfectly formed :-)) with direct access to a beautiful quiet beach. We choose this type of accommodation as our dog will bark at anything going by, so the quieter the better. We used the downstairs bedroom which was comfortable. Although this is an old cottage with single glazed windows, it was nice Read moreand warm. There is a shower room and a bathroom downstairs both with toilets. Owner also left a welcome package which was very thoughtful. Hide

A lovely property and well equipped. The location is perfect for those who want to go to the beach, explore on bike or foot. There are good amenities nearby, e.g. excellent fishmonger just a short distance from the property, and Dymchurch and New Romney are short drives/cycles to get to.

It is a lovely little cottage, literally right by the sea, so if you love your walks by the sea (which we do), this was ideal. After a wind swept walk along the beach to return to a cosy cottage and rest by the wood burner was a great way to spend our week. We would recommend this cottage to anyone who is thinking of going there!

We had a lovely break in Greycot. Very well equipped and cosy. The open fire is a fab addition but we didnt need to light it as we were warm enough. The private location with direct access to the beach was such a treat and the view from the main bedroom to the beach and out to sea was outstanding. Hope to visit again soon.
