This lovingly refurbished showman’s carriage presents quirky accommodation in a stunning countryside setting, perfect for celebrating a special occasion with a loved one or a romantic getaway for two.

This beautifully restored showman’s carriage is situated in close proximity to Bodiam Castle, with its imposing walls, wooden portcullis and surrounding moat, as well as extensive gardens. This really is a very special place to stay and is just a few minutes from one of the vintage steam trains which run the approximately ten-mile journey through the Sussex and Kent countryside. Hop on board and take a trip to the small town of Tenterden where you will find an array of shops as well as a brewery and a winery. There is also a lovely pub within a fifteen-minute walk of the property, where you can enjoy a pint or glass of wine.

This lovingly renovated showman’s carriage has retained many of its original features, including the etched windows, oak interior and hand-painted bed, but there are many modern creature comforts to enjoy as well. The cosy lounge area is open plan and features a woodburner effect gas fire, sofa, small dining table and even a TV. The compact but well appointed kitchen contains a hob, microwave, fridge and sink, whilst at the opposite end of the carriage you can find the romantic bedroom with double bed and second TV. Beyond the bedroom, a door leads to the “snug” which has a second gas stove. In winter enjoy cosying up around the fire and in the summer, throw open the floor to ceiling windows and enjoy the panoramic views of Bodiam Castle whilst basking in the sun. Continue through the carriage to the “Moulin Rouge” shower room, which has a light and airy feel to it.

The outside of the property comprises a secluded covered veranda, garden furniture and views to the castle and across the valley. There is parking available.

Unusual and beautiful accommodation. It felt cosy and different from the usual hotel rooms We loved sitting on the veranda either drinking coffee or wine and gazing over the orchards and fields. There are many local walks to enjoy with our dog straight from the doorstep without the need to drive. Really cosy and comfortable, full of character and a great location with wonderful views and the Hub and nearby pub for refreshment. Doorways a bit low if you are 6' plus!

The property is a beautifully renovated showmans caravan. It has a lovely veranda, with fabulous views of the near by Castle, at Bodiam. There was a lovely welcome pack & also one for our dog too Extra blankets were provided, which was a nice touch. It was great having the tv & DVD player for the evening. The bathroom was lovely & warm, with the moRead morest amazing shower. Bathrobes provided too, which great!! The caravans are situated in the farm grounds & lovely peaceful setting. Hide

This quirky carriage is fully equipped & is situated in an ideal position with a fantastic view & very peaceful. The owners are extremely helpful. We would definitely return.

Beautiful views and very peaceful area. Would highly recommend. We brought the dog, who had a great time roaming the orchard whilst we enjoyed a bottle of wine on the terrace! Owner was incredibly friendly and helpful.

We had a great time. Everything was as described. The owner John was a great help and a lovely man. Difficult to improve on anything without spoiling the charm of the place. I would go back tomorrow and recommend to all. The contribution of Bramley & Teal kept it all simple and I have no complaints.
