Holiday cottages and self-catering accommodation in Pett

The pretty village of Pett is famous not only for its long stretch of shingle and sand beach at Pett Level, but also for its imposing white chalk cliffs at Cliff End. The beach winds around the coast from Hastings with its beautiful East and West Hills, then up to Fairlight under the Firehills and the Country Park. A paradise for dog walkers with spectacular views across the Channel to France on a clear day, it offers miles upon miles of walking and lots of great places to stop for a picnic.

With a typical East Sussex feel of pretty cottages and a parish church surrounded by livestock and fields, Pett is perfectly situated for a visit to the nearby towns of Hastings and Rye, both jam-packed with history, cobbled streets and antique shops. The nearby town of Battle is only twenty minutes away and is the home of Battle Abbey, where William the Conqueror defeated King Harold in 1066.

The village has a couple of traditional country pubs to visit and there are lots of tearooms dotted around the area, as well as farm shops bursting with seasonal local produce. The village is perfect for a summer stay or a cosy weekend break during the winter – whatever the season, you will have the most wonderful stay.
