The Sussex town of Camber Sands is famous for its fabulous stretch of award winning, fine, golden sand and ever changing dune system. It's a wide beach that shelves very gently into the water and is staffed with lifeguards through the busy summer months. Camber Sands beach is one of the best-loved on the south coast, as it's a contrast to the several pebble and shingle beaches that line the rest of the coast.
There’s ample space to simply lie back and relax and for the more adventurous, there are several water sports centres offering kite buggy lessons, kayak hire, stand-up paddle boards and kite surfing equipment.
With so much to see and do all year round, Camber is ideal for a break throughout the seasons. The lovely and unspoilt Romney Marsh is a short walk away, there are nature reserves at Rye Harbour and Dungeness. The Heritage Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway departs from Dungeness travelling north up the coast.
This town is superb for a relaxing winter or autumn break - enjoy a spot of Christmas shopping in the nearby medieval Cinque Port town of Rye, take a stroll on the deserted beach or in your holiday cottage to curl up with a mug of hot chocolate - perfect!
