Holiday cottages and self-catering accommodation in Tenterden

A picturesque town in the heart of Kent, Tenterden is a fascinating mixture of historic buildings, street cafes and bustling restaurants. Quaint little lanes boast a selection of quirky shops and delis while the high street, flanked by wide grassy tree lined verges, offers typical high street shopping. The imposing St. Mildred’s Church looks down over the centre of the town, with the spire reputedly playing a pivotal role warning of the approach of the Spanish Armada. Traditional prestigious buildings from this time still remain, showcasing the rich history of the area which was once the centre of the wool trade.

Tenterden is perfectly situated in the heart of the Weald of Kent and is an ideal base to visit the many local castles and gardens. The Kent and Sussex Steam Railway is a must and will take you to Bodiam Castle and the pretty village of Northiam. You are also near to Sissinghurst Castle, Scotney Castle and Great Dixter House and Gardens and within driving distance of Battle with its famous abbey. Don’t miss a day out at the up and coming cultural town of Hastings and St. Leonards with its many galleries, including the famous Jerwood Gallery on the seafront.
